Cllr Scott Ainslie: addressing residents' concerns |
Following
calls from residents to address rat-running and parking congestion on Pathfield Road
Green Party councillor Scott Ainslie has secured a public meeting with council officers to discuss changes to
the road lay-out on Tuesday 20 March.
Public meeting
6pm - 7.30pm
Tuesday 20 March
Scout Hut, 39 Estreham
Rd SW16 5PQ
Scott has been raising with council officers the huge problems since the closure of Estreham Road to northbound traffic as part of a Quietways cycle route and pushing for them to be addressed.
The Estreham Road
scheme is to be made permanent but council officers have agreed to tackle the
knock-on effect on Pathfield
Road. The published timescale is:
Permanent Estreham
Road Scheme
Statutory consultation and traffic order
making - March 2018
Design and delivery of physical measures
- April 2018 to December 2018
Pathfield
Road Scheme
Local engagement and design of options -
March 2018 to September 2018
Statutory consultation and traffic order
making - October 2018 to November 2018
Delivery of physical measures on street -
December 2018
The increase in traffic has been a misery for people living in Pathfield Road. We are pleased that the council is now listening. But it is vital that the proposed solutions deal with the traffic problems.
We will keep a close eye on the process and do all we can to ensure
residents' views are heard and that plans progress as quickly as possible.
