Lewin Road will be closed to cars this Sunday 22nd
September as residents participate in Car Free Day 2019.
Car Free Day is an annual, global event aimed at
championing traffic-free city centres, promoting active travel and changing
attitudes to tackle deadly air pollution.
Vehicles will be banned from entering and waiting
on the street on the 22nd. Five other streets across Lambeth, including Trinity
Rise and Hurst Street, will also be closed.
Those participating in Car-Free Day this year are
playing an important role in highlighting the climate crisis and toxic air
pollution levels in Streatham.
I’ve heard great things about this street and that there is a Facebook group... I’m keen to rent on it. What is the group called?
