Residents win apology from Thames Water over stingy compensation

Cllrs Jonathan Bartley and Scott Ainslie: emergency supplies
Thames Water have apologised to Streatham residents for short-changing them on compensation when they went without water for up to three days in March.

People affected by the loss of water supply  on 3rd March were entitled for compensation of £30 if they were affected for between 4 and 12 hours, rising to £150 for up to 72 hours.

Over 100 people signed a petition to Thames Water CEO Steve Robertson - after the company challenged customers' accounts of how long they were affected. A woman who was without water for 60 hours was told by Thames Water the outage lasted only one hour!

Anyone who has still not received adequate compensation should email:
mdcustomerservice@thameswater.co.uk putting STREATHAM COMPENSATION in the subject.
