Keeping Streatham Green clean

As part of the community's efforts to keep Streatham Green clean, we have asked for the graffiti on Streatham Green to be cleaned.

There are regular meetings of Friends of Streatham Green, who help look after this important local space, as well as regular meetings convened by local councillors with police and council officers to look at how we can tackle anti-social behaviour on the green, and also make it a space that is more used and accessible to the local community.

If you would like to attend any of these meetings, please do get in touch with your Green councillors Jonathan, Scott or Nicole:

More graffiti reported north of the Potters Lane tunnel

We had quite a bit of success getting the Potters Lane tunnel cleaned of graffiti over the last few months. This is the tunnel by Streatham Common Station which links Conyers Road and Gleneagle Road to the Ferrer's Triangle and Estreham Road.

We have been keeping a regular eye on it and asking Lambeth Council to remove graffiti as and when it occurs.

We have reported some additional graffiti which has appeared on the North Side of the tunnel, by the Youth Centre.

Graffiti on Pathfield Road

We have reported the graffiti on Pathfield Road and asked the council to remove it, most notably outside number 94 and also 25a - 29c.

There is also graffiti opposite number 17 Pathfield Road on the white building site boards for Pathfield House, on the red post box outside number 54 Pathfield Road and on a council recycling bin outside 23a-26c Pathfield Road.

We will put a note around to local people and follow up in a few days a make sure that it has been done.

[Update 7th June: We have done a follow up inspection and the graffiti has been removed]

Graffiti on Estreham Road

We have asked Lambeth Council to remove the Graffiti on Estreham Road. In particular the graffiti on the East side of Estreham Road, about 100 yards north of the junction with Lewin Road, on a corner at the end of a stretch of black railings.

[Update 20th May 2013 Lambeth Council told us on 24th April that it would be "removed within the next 24/48 hours". However we did a follow up inspection today, and it is still there. We are therefore chasing the council again.]

Graffiti in Potters Lane Tunnel

We have asked for the Graffiti in the Potters Lane Tunnel to be cleaned up. The tunnel goes under the railway line and is an important pedestrian through-route which connects Conyers Road on the North side, to the Ferrers Triangle (Hambro Road, Ferrers Road, Ellora Road and Natal Road) as well as Estreham Road, to the South.

Graffiti makes a community look and feel unsafe.

There is graffiti on the outside as well as up high...

and on the lights inside...

We will post an update here when it is done.

[Update 31/01/13 Some of the graffiti has now been cleaned up...

...but there are still some area remaining which we are chasing:
