![]() |
| Cllr Nicole Griffiths and Cllr Bartley: safer streets |
Northanger Road is closed at drop-off and pick-up times in a pilot being looked at closely by other local schools. Staffed gates allow resident access, while children enjoy being able to walk, scoot and cycle to school.
A second trial is being run this term at Jessop Primary School in Herne Hill.
Air pollution contributes to 9,000 deaths each year in London with, on average, three adults and one child being hospitalised every day from breathing difficulties caused by pollution.

Have your say on Streatham's children's centres by 25th June
![]() |
| Cllr Nicole Griffiths campaigns to save children's centres |
Lambeth's council cabinet has voted to close five children's centres and make cuts to a further seven.
In Streatham, Woodmansterne children's centres is set to be closed, and Streatham Hub and Sunnyhill both downgraded, with deep cuts to their services.
Please fill out the online consultation and tell the council NO CUTS, NO CLOSURES. Every children's centre needs saving - and could be with an alternative budget proposal put forward by Green Party councillors.

Streatham stations to receive £140,000 for passenger benefits
Over the next few months local people can contribute suggestions to how money should be spent to make tangible improvements for passengers. Streatham is to receive £80,000 with Streatham Hill and Streatham Common each in line for £30,000.
A priority for Streatham must be work to improve acccibility to the platforms - which can currently only be reached by stairs.
This is not currently on the list of suggestions which include:
- fitting solar panels to stations
- environmental options such as 'living plant wall' or 'bee garden'
- toilet improvements
- extra seating
- extra vending machines
- extra cycle parking and security
- extra customer information screens
Contibute and prioritise suggestions for station improvements here.
Be part of an online passenger panel here.

may not be until March 2024!
The government announced Streatham is to be one of 73 stations to receive "Access for All" funding - 14 years after the scheme was first launched in 2005.
